January Super-blue-blood-moon-Eclipse

“I wonder if I've been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!” - Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

How can we remember who we are when like Alice we have tumbled into a looking glass world of projections and mirages, where fake is the new real and virtual reality like a pinhole camera turns everything upside down?

'The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.” - Groucho Marx

The super-blue-blood full moon total eclipse – epithets of royalty fitting the moon in the regal sign of Leo - hint at its message for us: to embrace our true royal nature and strip away any outworn identity of suffering which holds our ‘pain body’ and the illusion of incompleteness in place. With the destiny axis aligned between Leo and Aquarius this is a time when our own luminosity can shine into the collective to call together our ‘soul family’, kindred spirits who can inspire and support us on our journey.

Chiron, Lord of wounds and healing is facilitating the empowerment set in motion at this eclipse. Chiron has been insisting on forgiveness as healing, holding us fast from the same spot in Pisces since June 2016, repeating his lesson over and again, intensified during a lunar eclipse on 16th September 2016, again checking if we got the message through April and October 2017, and now at this eclipse is bestowing healing blessings to fill the empty space that we are creating through letting the old pain go. Notice the subtle heart ripples of disconnection and deeper re-connection that have been surfacing through these times.

The eclipse impacts our emotions and habits. As the moon passed through the umbral shadow of the earth for over three hours this represents an intense incubation period of more than three months for stripping away who we have been and suspending the (egoic) mind’s demand to claim a new identity.

Of course in our confusion what we think we can rely on as ‘real’ is our sadness and pain, and the sadness and pain of others. But pain creates a false reference point binding us to the past and the lure of future redemption, spinning us into the false web of time.

"The horror of that moment," the King went on, "I shall never never forget!" "You will, though," the Queen said, "if you don't make a memorandum of it."- Lewis Carroll

Let the confusion come. Let descriptions go. Forgiveness happens by itself as we step out of time. Be like Alice in an upside down world ‘curiouser and curiouser…’ Leo thinks that our pain and personal drama makes us special, that our limitation is our uniqueness. But this moon helps us radically let the past go, so time falls away, our history and with it the identity and emotions (‘karma’) we have unwittingly nourished. Let the pain express as sacred song, painting, poetry and with our full Leo heart force courage we become the instrument of the love behind the loss. . I know the voice of depression Still calls to you. I know those habits that can ruin your life Still send their invitations. But you are with the Friend now And look so much stronger. You can stay that way And even bloom! - Hafiz

This cleansing is an essential task in preparation for a radically new era which was seeded at solstice as Saturn, Lord of Karma, came home to his own sign Capricorn after a 27 year absence, hand in hand with the Sun. This rare double Solstice entrance of archetypal ‘Hero’ with the ‘Wisdom teacher’ has not happened for at least 150 years. It offers a glimpse of a promise of new order after the fragmentation and upheavals of 2012 – 2015 and the surreal limbo of the last couple of years.

In 2008 Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, entered Capricorn for the first time since 1778, hand in hand with Venus - symbolising a death and rebirth process focused on collective resources and wealth. Capricorn represents structures such as governments, institutions, laws, business and banks. Pluto with the help of explosive Uranus has been blasting whatever illusion of stability of global structures we had into pieces. He does not leave Capricorn until 2025.

Saturn - in the face of ongoing dereliction of order - may attempt to impose harsher controls, more rigid boundaries and oppressive surveillance to hold back the collective from spinning further out of control. Individually we can use Saturn’s call for order to restructure our inner lives regardless of the wormhole world holding captive the collective mind:

“The dynamics of the attention economy are structurally set up to undermine the human will,” - Former Google employee

The next major reference point in planetary rhythms will be 2020 when Saturn meets Pluto in Capricorn symbolising the clash of covert power against the force of authority or a renewal of wisdom and responsibility which could transform our global fate. Saturn will leave Capricorn in three years from now; this is our time for rebuilding our will and with it our world.

“Make of yourself a light,” said the Buddha, before he died... And then I feel the sun itself as it blazes over the hills, like a million flowers on fire – clearly I’m not needed, yet I feel myself turning into something of inexplicable value...". - Mary Oliver
